3 Rules that You Must Know When Buying High Heels

Every woman has a love-hate relationship with high heels. They boost our confidence by making us look slim and more put together, but give us blister, soreness and inconvenience at the same time. Well...these could be from wearing a wrong pair of heels. You shouldn't only focus on the style of the heels when buying them. Below are rules that you have to know:

The Higher is Not The Better

Newbies to heels often make the same mistake - getting ones that 4-5" high, which is too much to handle. In fact, the higher the heels are, the more pressure they put on your front foot and heels, which causes greater soreness on your feet. Therefore, it is paramount to choose the right height.

After putting on your heels, go tiptoe and see the distance between the heel and the floor. It should be 2-3cm. In general, the most ideal heel height is 1.5-2" so that your feet can have enough support without taking too much pressure. If you need to wear higher heels for special occasions, bring a pair with low heels as back up so that you can switch and relax when needed.

Thickness of the heels affects comfort

All women would make a beeline for stiletto heels because they beautify our legs to the utmost and make us look extra graceful as we walk. However, since the support is so little that we may easily get injured, they are not recommended to newbies.

The thickness of the heels is directly proportional to the support it can give and thus the wearing comfort. Thicker heels provide better support to reduce the pressure our feet have to take, so that we can feel more comfortable. Although stiletto heels look amazing, they are not for long-time wear due to its very little support that may cause pain on our legs and feet and even make our calves chunkier.

Fitting in the evening

Out feet are the smallest in the morning. After a whole day of standing and walking, they start to bloat and usually are half to one size bigger compared to in the morning. If you have to try on shoes in the morning, be sure to get half to one size bigger. Otherwise, you will feel squished and very uncomfortable when you actually wear them out in the evening.

Remember to try both sides when you fit for shoes because it's common that people have one foot bigger than the other. Go for the size that fits your bigger foot. Moreover, take more strides when you try shoes on because your feet are bigger walking as compared to sitting down.
